Although the flying exhibitions at Claiborne's Science Day were set up and run by Keith Kimball's HobbyTown USA in West Monroe, NEARC did have pilots flying the demo's.  The kids were sent to different stations throughout the day in groups of 1 or 2 classes.  HobbyTown was set up in the playground area.  They were treated to James McPherson flying both gas and electric helicopters and Shane Smith flying electric airplanes.  Logan Smith also got to fly when his class was out to watch.  Keith entertained the kids with gas powered trucks.  Thanks to HobbyTown and Claiborne Elementary Principle Kevin Welch for letting NEARC be a part of this event.
